1. Executive Summary & Children’s Privacy Commitment

PEBCAK Consulting LLC is deeply committed to protecting the privacy of children, teens, and families. Wicked P.I. is designed under strict compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR-K), and Apple App Store Review Guidelines.

  • Zero Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, request, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) from children or adults.
  • No Account Creation & Kid-Safe Callsigns Only: Players never enter free-form names, emails, or passwords. Detective callsigns are chosen strictly from 8 pre-approved preset titles.
  • Zero Third-Party Tracking / Zero Behavioral Profiling: We do not track players across third-party websites or apps. The Apple Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) is never requested or accessed (NSPrivacyTracking = false).
  • Local-First Sandboxed Persistence: All solved mysteries, stars, unlocked outfits, stickers, and coins are saved locally on your device (with optional private backup in your personal Apple iCloud Key-Value store).

2. Information We Process and Store

A. Local Game Progression & Personal iCloud Sync

  • Data Stored: Solved case stars, detective rank, unlocked wardrobe outfits, sticker album completion, coin balance, and audio/caption settings.
  • Storage Location: Sandboxed within the operating system’s local application container and your personal Apple iCloud Key-Value container / Game Center achievements (when signed into Apple’s system services). PEBCAK Consulting LLC operates zero external game servers and cannot view or access your save files.

B. Family-Safe Contextual Advertising (COPPA Compliant)

  • Partner: Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy.
  • COPPA Child-Directed Configuration: Every ad request is strictly flagged with tagForChildDirectedTreatment = true, tagForUnderAgeOfConsent = true, maxAdContentRating = "G" (General Audience), and npa = 1 (Non-Personalized Ads Only).
  • Non-Personalized Ads Only: Advertisements are contextual and family-safe. Behavioral targeting, remarketing, and cross-app tracking are disabled.
  • Parental Control Ad Kill-Switch: Inside the gated Parent Zone, parents can completely disable optional rewarded bonus videos at any time, or unlock ad-free play via optional passes.

C. In-App Purchases (Protected by Hardened Parental Gate)

  • Platform Billing: Processed exclusively by Apple App Store (StoreKit) or Google Play Billing.
  • 3-Step Parental Gate: Every purchase button and restore action is shielded behind a multi-step adult math and word-number verification challenge plus a 2-second hold confirmation to prevent accidental child taps.
  • Purchase Data: PEBCAK Consulting LLC never receives or stores payment credentials, credit card numbers, or billing addresses.

3. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in applicable jurisdictions). If you believe a child has sent personal information via an email support inquiry, please contact us at ryan@pebcakconsulting.com and we will promptly delete that correspondence.

4. Your Rights & Data Deletion

Because game progression is stored locally on your device (and optionally in your personal Apple iCloud container), you retain complete control:

  • Erase Data: Delete the application from your device or manage your personal iCloud app storage in iOS Settings to remove all saved progress immediately.
